We will walk you through the steps to apply all the way through registration. Following these steps will have you well on your way to graduation!
Concurrent Enrollment and Dual Enrollment Students – High school students taking Bakersfield College courses through dual or concurrent enrollment need approval from their parent, high school, and the college. To obtain approval, students must follow the Early College - How to Enroll Steps each semester.
Before you can register for class, you must complete a CCCApply college application for Bakersfield College. A link to the application is below this important information including preparing the documents you will need and step-by-step instructions.
Choosing "Verify Later" or opting out of ID.me could delay the verification process up to 4 weeks. Speed up your enrollment, verify your identity with ID.me.
For students unable to use ID.me, connect with the 24/7 student support live chat to verify your identity. For assistance with ID.me, please contact the helpdesk at CCCHelp.info.

Once you Create your College Account (step 6 above), you will receive either a notification that includes your assigned BC Student ID number and your BC email account or a notification of a Delayed application. If your account is Delayed, you will receive an email within 1-3 business days, with information on your next steps. We will send the email to the address you provided in the application. Check your spam or junk folder to ensure that you receive the email.

Note: You must apply EVERY year for financial aid. Mark your calendar to re-apply for Financial Aid ASAP after October 1st every year. The first deadline for Cal Grant consideration is March 2nd every year.

After you receive your student ID (@00xxxxx), complete the Online Orientation. At orientation you will learn about our academic majors and degrees, policies, important academic dates, and tips on how to be a successful student.
Achieve your educational goals in less time with a Comprehensive Student Education Plan (CSEP). Call (661) 395-4421 or email counseling@bakersfieldcollege.edu from your BC email to schedule an individual appointment with a Counselor. Your CSEP will help you determine the classes to register for this semester.
Your high school GPA and coursework helps determine what level to start at for English, Reading, and Math classes, the foundation for all other classes here at BC. Your counselor will assist you with determining where start during your appointment to create a Comprehensive Student Education Plan.
If you did not complete at least 11th grade in a U.S. high school, graduated from a non-U.S. high school, or you are an international student, you will complete the Guided Self-Placement process with your counselor.
You will need to bring:
High school students wishing to enroll while still attending high school must submit a Concurrent Enrollment Form.
Meet with the Veterans Advisor to complete a Student Education Plan and options specific to your status as a veteran or dependent of a veteran.
Within 1-3 Business days of your application (Step 1), we will send your registration date. You will register for classes from your Student Education Plan (Step 4) through the student portal, InsideBC.
For your first semester of registration, you will receive earlier appointments if you have completed the enrollment steps.
You have 10 days from the date you register for a class to pay your tuition bill in full or you may be dropped for non-payment.
You may pay your bill online through InsideBC or at the Business Office. How to make your payment online.
Financial Aid may be able to help you pay for college. See step 2, above, to apply.
